DFG Sponsors First Pig Hunts on Private Lands - Jan. 18, 2011
An unusual partnership between the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) and private landowners has created new pig hunting opportunities in Yolo County. Through the Shared Habitat Alliance for Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Program, the first state-sponsored pig hunt on private lands was held in December.

The S.C. Department of Natural Resources will continue efforts to remove and eliminate feral hogs from North Island in Georgetown County by scheduling three hog hunts with dogs.

Hunters Again Permitted to Take Feral Hogs During Deer Seasons in Zone 25 - Aug. 20, 2010
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife has issued a Special Wildlife Management Permit to control feral hogs in Deer Management Zone 25. Hunters do not need a separate permit to pursue hogs in this zone. They need only have their regular hunting licenses and deer permits necessary to hunt deer during the applicable seasons.

New rules in place to control feral pigs, wolf-dog hybrids and mute swans - Jul. 06, 2010
Rules going into effect this summer are designed to prevent new introductions of three invasive species. Under the rules effective July 1, 2010,, people must have a license to possess wolf-dog hybrids, feral or wild swine, and mute swans in captivity.

DFG Offers Clinic On Hunting Wild Pig - Mar. 01, 2010
The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) will hold a wild pig hunting clinic April 17 at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City. The clinic is offered through DFG's Advanced Hunter Education Program in partnership with the Pacific Coast Hunter Education Association and is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wild Pig Sightings must be Reported - Feb. 12, 2010
Landowners who know or suspect that feral swine are on their property must notify the State Board of Animal Health immediately. Greg Link, assistant chief of wildlife for the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, said a new state law requires landowners to help the BOAH control or eradicate feral swine.
